Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Course
The MBSR course was developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zin and is one of the most well-known and widely taught mindfulness programmes worldwide. It includes a blend of mindfulness meditations, body awareness exercises and gentle yoga stretches and although you may experience relaxation during these practices, the aim is not to relax but rather to understand and explore our stressors. The calm comes from understanding the nature of stress which is far more profound and long lasting than a relaxation session and affects how we deal with our lives.
In the words of Dr. Kabat-Zin, ‘you cannot stop the waves, but you can learn how to surf.’
The next 8 week MBSR course in Paarl will start in October 2019. There will be 8 weekly sessions and a half day session on a Saturday.
Dates: 7, 14, 21, 28 October; 4, 11, 18, 25 Noveber

Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction Course for Teens
Being a teenager is stressful and many teenagers struggle to deal with mounting pressure. The good news is that there are skills and techniques that teenagers can learn to help them deal with stress and anxiety. This 8-week programme was adapted from the MBSR programme developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and is aimed at improving the quality of life of teenagers. It consists of 8 sessions of 1.5 hours each and includes course materials for home practice.
